Description
Jane Austen's is one of the most difficult portraits to paint, because the only from-life image we have of her is a sparse little sketch by her sister. Even the more refined engraving used for her books was based on that sketch. How do you make a realistic portrait that keeps her likeness, when your reference is neither realistic nor very clear on her features?
This is the second Austen I've made; maybe after a few more I'll get my method down pat.
